Daniel ‘DC’ Cook, born in Fort Benning, GA, grew up in an Army Family, living in Georgia, Germany, North Carolina and Mississippi. That upbringing afforded him the experience of being raised in an incredibly diverse community of different races, ethnicities, religions and other identities with a strong sense of togetherness. As a result, DC developed and maintained a passion for bringing people together in celebration of special occasions no matter how big, small or noteworthy. To DC, all occasions matter!
DC graduated from the University of Southern Mississippi in 2005 with a Bachelor of Science Business Administration degree. A graduate of the Army ROTC Program, he commissioned in the United States Army Reserve as a 2nd Lieutenant. Immediately after college, DC attended Officer Basic Course designed to develop new combat-effective leaders and train them to perform their wartime duties as commissioned officers. This experience led to over 19 years of service in some of the most demanding, complex and rewarding assignments all over the world. Today, at the rank of Lieutenant Colonel, DC continues to proudly serve his country.
DC’s experiences in the military as a leader taught him the importance of recognizing achievements and setting aside time to celebrate successes, milestones and occasions. To him, creating this culture of celebration is one of the most powerful team-building tools allowing people to connect on another level. DC believes that a great celebration reminds us of the purpose of our life and of the power of our closest relationships.
This belief led DC to create Five Twenty-Two Event Group in 2019.
The mission of the 522 Event Group is to plan, curate and execute recurring fun and innovative experienced-based events that excite and inspire.
The purpose of Hub City Sneaker Ball is to continually provide the attention, awareness and support our community needs to improve the lives of those affected. We aim to increase our donations each year and contribute to multiple community nonprofit organizations annually.
